The all-new 2022 Tundra will be available to Washington DC and Arlington, VA, drivers this summer

On Tuesday, released a video that, while just seven seconds long, teased a major update for the all-new 2022 Toyota Tundra, due to hit dealerships this summer. The cryptic clip of the intriguing engine (engine cover, really) was accompanied by a clarifying quip, which reads, "The next generation of heroic iForce performance is ready to power the all-new Tundra."

What exactly is the iForce Max is currently anybody's guess. However, some media outlets speculate that the trusty 381-horsepower standard V8 could be replaced by a powerful and efficient hybrid V6 making more than 400 horsepower. Indeed, the all-new Tundra could share a truck-tuned version of the all-new Land Cruiser's 3.5L twin-turbo V6 hybrid, which boasts an immense 409 horses and 479 pound-feet of torque. However, it's important to stress that no details are known with any certainty at the time of this blog.

The current Toyota Tundra has successfully held on to its second generation for a decade and a half, offering standard V8 power and an impressive number of standard amenities, including Toyota Safety Sense driver aids like a Pre-Collision System and Adaptive Cruise Control. Still, all-new third generation for the mighty full-size pickup is welcome news to critics and consumers alike.
